Introduction

Cloud Shoppes, LLC ("Company," "we," "our," or "us") operates Car Show and Swap and respects your privacy. We are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, "the Service").

Information We Collect

Location Data

With your permission, we use your device's location to show you events near you. We do not store your location on our servers and we do not track you continuously — it is read only while you have the app open and are looking at the map.

Your approximate coordinates are sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to turn them into a place name (for example “Birmingham, AL 35203”) so we can show you where the map is centred, and to Google Maps to draw the map itself. Distance filtering happens on your device.

Account Information

If you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Display name (optional)
• Profile information you choose to provide

Event Submissions

If you submit an event, we collect the event details you provide, including venue name, address, date, time, description, contact information, and any flyer images. This information is displayed publicly as part of the event listing.

Usage Data

The mobile app contains no analytics or advertising software. We do not track which screens you visit, what you search for, or how you use the app.

The website uses Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how they arrive. This measures the website only and is not present in the mobile app. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and receives your IP address and browsing activity on this site; see Google's privacy policy for how it handles that data. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies for this site.

Google Play collects crash reports and basic performance data for any app installed from the Play Store. That is handled by Google, not by us, and is described in Google's own privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Display car shows and events near your location
• Provide and maintain the Service
• Improve and optimize the user experience
• Send notifications about saved events (if enabled)
• Respond to your inquiries and support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

Reminders

If you mark an event as Going or Interested in the mobile app, the app schedules a reminder on your device for the day before. These reminders are created and stored on your phone — we do not operate a push notification server and we do not collect a push token. You can turn reminders off in your device's notification settings.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

• Supabase: Database, authentication and image storage
• Google Maps: Map display
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): Turning coordinates and addresses into place names
• Expo: Mobile app builds and over-the-air updates
• Google Analytics: Website traffic measurement (website only, not the app)

These providers have their own privacy policies and may collect data as described in their respective policies.

Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience. These are used for:

• Essential functionality — keeping you signed in and remembering preferences such as light or dark mode
• Google Analytics, to measure website traffic

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell advertising. The mobile app uses no cookies or trackers of any kind.

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Note that disabling cookies may affect certain features of the Service.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data:

• With service providers who help us operate the Service
• When required by law or legal process
• To protect the rights, property, or safety of our users
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security including encryption in transit and at rest. Data is stored in secure data centers within the United States. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this policy.

You can delete your account at any time from More → Delete Account in the app, or on our account deletion page. Deleting your account immediately removes your sign-in and profile, your saved events, and any ratings you left.

Events you submitted remain published with your name and account removed from them, because other people rely on those listings to find local shows. Email hello@carshowandswap.com if you want a specific event you submitted taken down as well. Copies of deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a short period before those backups rotate.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of location tracking at any time
• Disable reminders in your device settings
• Withdraw consent for data processing

California Privacy Rights

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:

• The right to know what personal information is collected
• The right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed
• The right to say no to the sale of personal information

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

International Users

If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
